A wonderful person who is truly missed.

Hi All. What a nice website for the alumni! I'm checking in from beautiful Denver, Colorado where spring has finally sprung! If anybody from the class of 88 is hanging out here in Colorado - give me a shout!

Hi all,

Now that the EHS Crab Feed is over (huge success once again) we can start
thinking about the Encinal High School Golf Tournament sponsored by the
EHS Alumni Association.

If you do not live in the bay area you may not be aware of the drastic cut backs
from the state that could jeopardize our sport programs at Encinal.

THE SPORTS PROGRAMS NEEDS OUR SUPPORT MORE THAN EVER
RIGHT NOW!

Please come and support our athelthics. Even if you do not play golf we have
a great BBQ dinner for only $25.00. Or better yet, please sponsor a hole for
$100.00 (call Mario Mariani at 510 523-4816) or donate an auction item
(call Bill Westernoff 510 523-2393).

This year's date is Saturday May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend).

Please contact Tim if you are interested in golf and/or dinner reservations.

TongueDo you remember a White Sport's Coat and Pink Carnation? If you do remember you will probably want to be with us on June 13, 2008 at the Elks Club. The class of 58 will be celebrating their 50 year reunion and want all of you to celebrate with them.

The dinner dance is only $40 per person and includes buffet dinner with red and white wine, live music that you will know and can dance to.

If you plan on attending with friends you can reserve a table for 8, one of you needs to send Carmen your list of names and a check for your entire group. Carmen tells me all check must be in her hot sweaty hands by June 1, 2008. Carmen's mailing address is:
Carmen Cutting
5610 E Carmen Circle
Anaheim Hills, CA 92807
Check should be made payable to Carmen Cutting

For you out of towner’s Carmen has reserved 10 rooms at the:
Coral Reef Inn
400 Park St
Alameda CA
Phone Number 1-800 533 2330 or email reservations@coralreefinn.com

Rate $84.99 per room double queen beds.
When making your reservations please mention Encinal Reunion and Carmen Cutting's name as all rooms are being held under her name.

Confirmation #s 086J7R 086J7Q
086J7M 086J7N
086J7P

When you make your reservation be sure to give them one of the above #s as that will be your confirmation.

The inn is located across from the beach at 400 Park St. it is also across from the mall and there's plenty of restaurants and shops.

Make your reservations soon as possible as that week-end of June 13 will be a busy one with graduations at both Encinal and Alameda High, not to mention other functions.

Carmen is also challenging all you guys to drag out and ware that White Sports Coat, carnation is optional.

Anyone with questions can contact Carmen at CarmenCutting@msn.com or by phone cell is 714 745-2983 and land line 714 921-2105

I was so sorry to hear about Mrs. Murphy. You couldn't get anything past her. She was sharp as a tack. I made the mistake of underestimating her in '84 once! She was one of my favorite teachers and She will be remembered and missed, Tish, class of '85

Ed, the 2 alarm fire started in the Apt upstairs, but the restaurant had water damage. If you Google ''alameda fire'' the story will come up.

I saw more illegal moves this morning than I have seen ever in one day, let alone in the morning! and I'm on my BIKE for cryin out loud!!

There will be a crab feed planning meeting Tuesday Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at Kathy Concoran house, 1316 Bay St. between Central and San Antonio.

Kathy is taking a new job assignment in Mexico and will not be able to continue to serve as chairperson. The committee is looking for a new chairperson and it should be easy for a new comer as a lot of the work is already done or underway. A good manager is needed to see the plans to the finish but much of the heavy lifting is done.

This sounds like a good opportunity for someone that has an interest in doing some good work but has not been sure they could take such a project from beginning to end. With a lot of the planning underway and help from the experience planners, Phil and Sue, this could be your chance to step up and make a difference.

If you are not interest in the chair put would like to be a part of the planning this sounds like a meeting you would want to attend.

If you need more information on what is expected of the chairperson you can contact Phil at darcan@sbcglobal.net

ShockedI had to hire a guy to cut down a tree at my Mom's house. The wind tore it from its roots. One more strong storm and it'll fall down for sure.
