hey guys, I live 3 blocks from the old school, and the logs were taken down sometime after 1987, about 5-7 years later. now it's a set of classrooms. there is no indication that the logs were even there. the trees are gone, the little hills are gone. keeping kids from taking up a disgusting habit by removing them? I'd think that's a damn good thing.

now about something WAY more "JET" than the stupid logs. if anybody remembers the actual jet that they put in front, it looks SOOOOO much better up in the air, like it's actually flying. Biggrin

now, if I could only get the damn students going there now to stop littering, or speeding down santa clara...jeez i'm getting old LMFAO!!

The logs were still rockin in 85, But I think they were removed around 90. I know because I went back to look for my unbreakable comb, derby jacket, and my hiking boots with red laces.

Melva Jean "Toast", whatever R U doing in here? Quit complaining of getting older, you're getting "riper", ok? I just found this site after Sherry Bowes left it in an email from classm----. Ugh! I like this house already, gotta get some sleep. Had a rough evening. Too much drama for me. I am happy to know you're alive on this site. It seems so much nicer. My first night. G'nite all, zzzzzzzzz, Jody....Shocked

And even if we do see, we promise not to tell (hell, some of us won't even remember...).

Oh, and hey guys. Long time, and I've been /seriously/ out of touch. Jim, thanks for having the initiative to get this thing going, and thanks to Everyone Else for making it a vibrant, successful cyerspace community.

When I goto the old NAS, I like to drive to the Main Gate and see the Marine Terminals on the Oakland side.
// I read in the local paper that it might take up to 10 yrs to cleanup the base.

Steve, I didn't know that they tore it down. I have many good memories of handsome Marines in dress blues at that gate greeting me as I came into work at the Craft/Hobby Shop (1981-83).

Guess what? Did you hear they tore down the old NAS East Gate? Its the gate that looked like a toll booth.

Mr.Feeney also was a sub at Paden School while I worked there and while my son was a student there. He was a lot more mellow as a sub,IMO.
